Choosing the perfect tile

Material

The choice of material will heavily influence the final design of your project. You can go for a modern design by matching your stainless steel appliances with stainless steel mosaics.Or perhaps you prefer a traditional design; in which you would be looking at stone mosaic tiles.

Aside from the design, you should also consider the material's physical properties and how that might affect your day to day interactions with it. For example, you should avoid tiling your floor with glass tiles, especially kitchen and bath, as they become extremely slippery when wet. Other aspects for consideration includes the amount of effort it takes to clean the tiles and even the environment impact of your choice of material.

Color

When choosing your mosaic tiles, another important element to consider is color. Colors can be used to convey an emotion, set a mood, and even invoke psychological reactions. For example, if you want to make your room happy or lively, you should be using orange and yellow instead of blue. Below is a list of colors and the meanings behind them.

Pattern

There's no right or wrong choice when selecting a pattern. You may go for a pattern that's well tested like the 1" grid, or you may want something more exotic like those in our combination section.
